Christmas Moss (Vesicularia montagnei), also known as "Xmas Moss," is a less common popular moss that is native to South-East Asia. It is a great plant for beginners as it is easy to grow and hardy, tolerating a wide range of temperatures and low-lighting. Once established, Christmas Moss will grow and attach itself to any surface, growing vertically and horizontally into bushy patches that have the appearance of pointy, miniature pine trees. It provides cultivation areas for tiny live food sources such as infusoria and biofilm that dwarf ornamental shrimp enjoy grazing on and provides cover for small fry and shrimp to hide in.
